Behold! The EXECU-CHAIR!

Modern Mechanix Magazine, October 1968

I could use this right now! But doubt it's kosher to fall asleep at work ;) Just think! It comes in three fashionable colors: black, avocado, and oxblood. Yaaaaaaay oxblood.

"Caught in Friederic's Teeth"

I cut my finger open a few days ago and kept thinking of this. Afraid of infection, I was careful to use a band-aid. After all, everyone knows "let a cut go and you invite infection, amputation, or even death!"

Deep Sea Diver, 1938

Modern Mechanix Magazine, Dec 1938

"Lead weighted shoes" and a "heavy steel diving helmet." Ahhhhh, those were the days.

"Golly, what a neat-o idea!"

It snows on and off all throughout the day, but that's not a problem if you carry a MICRO-THIN PLASTIC RAIN CAPE. Huzzah! Saved again by something "micro" and "cigarette-size"! What a fascinating modern age we live in: 1953!

Behold! The Ski-Cape!

I see my friend Lauren every weekday while we are at work, except on Wednesdays because Lauren goes snowboarding Wednesday afternoons. I do so miss that girl on Wednesday afternoons. Maybe Lauren could use one of these capes when she's doing her thing. Note that it "serves alternately as a sail and a brake..."

...it reminded me of Wile E. Coyote's bat cape. :)

Terpsichore & Tuberculosis

Here's a question: can it's be a contraction for both it-is AND it-has? Because I'm still sick, and it's been more than a week now. My condition is irksome.  I'm beginning to question how long it'll last; I once had this same affliction last for three solid months. But then, it's just a cold. Or is it? Perhaps my numerous dance classes have brought on something dire. *eyeroll*

And before I forget, "Terpsichore" is the mythological greek muse of poetry and dance. A literal translation of her name means "delighting in dancing." That's where that random vocab word sprung from. :)
