Yes, Please

I hereby state my love for any and all rainbow umbrellas!

I spotted some snazzy chick carrying one of these dandies earlier today, and began to covet. I pointed across the walkway and, in awe, muttered "ROY-GEE-BIHV!" Hopefully I muttered it soft enough that nobody else heard me say it, but knowing my tendency for *ahem* loudness, that seems to much to hope for.

I knew it! Curls ARE to Die For!

Theme Party

My friend Kasey Rasmussen was my impromptu Huntsman.
("Bring me Snow White's Heart!" and all that)

A couple of weeks ago my Folk Dance club had a time-period theme party. Each team in the club dressed as a different era of time, and my team had the renaissance/medieval period.

I cannibalized a few pieces from a local thrift store, borrowed a puffy-shirt from a friend, and dug out tons of junk jewelry that my aunt gave me.Voila! Instant Queen-Isabella-of-Spain. The pearls draped through my hair was a nifty touch, I think. Sweet that I made this costume in less than an hour though, yeah? YEAH! (That's Kasey's sword, though. I definitely don't have cool stuff like that in my closet. But he let me knight people with it! Sweeeeet!)

I forgot to tell you--I made it onto the folk dance team that I wanted to! Yippee! Thanks for your support, guys. :)

Backgammon & Orthodox

So many people ask me what it was really like to live in Jerusalem. Did Jews and Palestinians get along at all? What do people wear there? Did you feel safe? I've decided to publish a photo collection of things I saw when I was just walking around town: no cathedrals, field trips, or touristy stuff, but only the ordinary moments that I observed every day.

This is the first addition. Orthodox Jews walk through the street as Palestinians play backgammon to the right of them. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Sweater Weather

Mmmm, Autumn starts tomorrow. Brisky breezes, pumpkin pie, and colored leaves in the canyon; I can't wait.

Oy. You with the camera!

I need pictures.

This is me begging you on my knees-- if you've taken a picture of something for me over the summer, or last month, (like, say, a picture of my hairstyle, or my new clothes, or me & Dylan, or ESPECIALLY of a cake that I made,) could you please please please please please email me the pictures so that I can blog about them? Thank you.

Along with my everlasting gratitude you will also feel the joy of knowing that you won't ever have to do that for me again, as-- tah da! I got my own camera fixed. Yay!

P.S. Movie Quote of the Day! (please guess) "If you promise never to enter that room I'll see to it... that you receive whatever dessert you prefer every night you are here." (hint: the guy saying it has a thick accent.)

Time to Back Up Time #1: Braces Removal

I'm a tweensy bit behind, if you haven't noticed. :) Don't worry, I'll get there quick. So, August 17th I got my braces off.
